Kuala Lumpur – Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) continues its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, Sesama Mara by distributing its signature Box of Hope, donations of essential food supplies to 100 families in PPR Kerinchi Lembah Pantai.
Through a special collaboration between Air Selangor with Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia, and Village Grocer, the recipients have been provided with essential food items such as rice, oil, sugar, dry goods, and flour. To date, a total of 3,875 Box of Hope packages have been distributed to B40 families in and around Selangor and Kuala Lumpur since the initiation of this programme on 30th June 2020.
In line with the commitment to continuously support communities in need, Air Selangor has also announced the latest volunteering programme – Hydro Heroes. The programme was first launched on the 28th of June and has since received encouraging response with 150 employees of Air Selangor registering as volunteers. The volunteers also participated in the preparation and distribution of the Box of Hope programme at PPR Kerinchi Lembah Pantai.
Air Selangor hopes the aid provided would be able to bring joy while also strengthening the relationships among various segments of society, such as the local community, residents’ associations, local authorities, and non-governmental organisations.
The Box of Hope contributions in the form of physical purchases can be made at five (5) Box of Hope locations within Village Grocer outlets. These locations are Tamarind Square Cyberjaya, MyTOWN Shopping Centre Cheras, 1 Mont Kiara, Central i-City Shah Alam, and Melawati Mall Ampang.
In addition, Air Selangor has also introduced the digital version of the Box of Hope initiative, allowing the public to make digital contributions through the website www.airselangor.com/boxofhope/.
