Air Selangor’s Emergency Response Plan (ERP) Crisis Management Wins Silver at Hashtag Asia Awards 2024

Kuala Lumpur – Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) was announced as the SILVER winner in Best Social Media Crisis Management category at the 3rd annual edition of Hashtag Asia Awards 2023 held on the 3rd of May in Singapore.

 

Ir. Abas Abdullah, Acting Chief Executive of Air Selangor said, “We are honoured to receive this prestigious award from Hashtag Asia. As the largest water services provider in Malaysia, we understand that water is not just a necessity but the essence of life. Air Selangor’s ERP crisis management strategy has effectively demonstrated our ability to communicate vital and accurate information, provide updates, and address concerns promptly through our social media platforms, ensuring our consumers are well informed during the disruption.

 

“We remain steadfast in our commitment to provide clean and safe treated water to 9.3 million consumers in Selangor, Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur to sustain life and health for all,” Ir. Abas added.

The Best Social Media Crisis Management category at the Hashtag Asia Awards recognises organisations that have demonstrated outstanding performance in managing and mitigating crises through social media channels. Air Selangor’s ERP crisis management strategy stood out among its competitors for its effectiveness, innovation, and impact in safeguarding its consumers welfare and maintaining trust and transparency during emergencies.

 

The Hashtag Asia Awards 2024 was judged by 36 senior marketing professionals and attracted participation from renowned brands across Asia. At the same award, Air Selangor was also shortlisted as a finalist in the Best Integrated Social Engagement Campaign category, competing against prominent international brands such as AIA, Changi Airport Group, Geneco, Grab Philipines, Singtel and many others.
