Kuala Lumpur – Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) would like to inform that the emergency works to repair pipes that were broken due to the landslide in Damansara Utama is currently being undertaken. Following this incident, a total of 43 areas in the Petaling region and 20 areas in the Kuala Lumpur region will experience unscheduled water supply disruptions. The list of areas experiencing this unscheduled water supply disruption is as in Appendix A.
As previously informed, Air Selangor has started the repair work on the broken pipes last night, 29 December 2020. However, the repair work is expected to take up to 30 hours and will be fully completed by 6:00 a.m., 31 December 2020. Consumers will get their water supply in stages after the repair work is completed and water supply will fully recover at the affected areas by 6:00 p.m., 1 January 2021.
Air Selangor will provide relief water supply assistance by mobilising water tankers to the affected areas with priority given to critical premises such as hospitals and dialysis centres. Consumers can also get alternative water supply assistance at the Pusat Khidmat Setempat (PKS) which have been opened starting from 8:00 a.m. this morning for the convenience of the affected consumers. Air Selangor advises consumers to comply with the SOP of the Conditional Movement Control Order (PKPB) when taking water supply from tanker trucks and PKS. The list of PKS that are opened can be found in Appendix B.
Air Selangor fully understands the consumers’ need for clean water, especially with the increase in COVID-19 cases and the implementation of the Conditional Movement Control Order by taking all efforts to minimise the impact of disruption on affected consumers.
