Kuala Lumpur – Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) would like to inform on the temporary shutdown of Sungai Semenyih Water Treatment Plant (Sg Semenyih WTP) and Bukit Tampoi Water Treatment Plant (Bukit Tampoi WTP) following the odour pollution incident at the Jenderam Hilir Raw Water Pump Station intake.
Sg Semenyih WTP has resumed operation at 8:30 am today, and the supply of clean and safe treated water has commenced distribution in stages to consumers’ premises starting from 2:00 pm, 25 December 2022 (Sunday) and is expected to fully recover at 6:00 am, 27 December 2022 (Tuesday).
Meanwhile, a reading of 0 TON at Bukit Tampoi WTP has been recorded for three times in a row which enables Bukit Tampoi WTP to resume its operation at 2:30 pm, 25 December 2022 (Sunday).
The water supply recovery period differs from one area to another according to the location of consumers’ premises as well as water pressure of the distribution system.
Air Selangor continues to mobilise water tankers to the affected areas, with priority given to critical premises such as hospitals, clinics, dialysis centres and funerals during the unscheduled water supply disruption.
