Air Selangor Brings Joy to B40 Residents of Pangsapuri Rimba Jaya in Conjunction with Its Third Anniversary Celebration

Kuala Lumpur – Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) continues its efforts to spread joy by extending donations to the B40 communities under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme Sesama Mara in conjunction with its third anniversary.

In line with its ongoing commitment to help those in need under the Sesama Mara programme umbrella, Air Selangor has distributed its Box of Hope, consisting of  essential food items, to 200 families in Pangsapuri Rimba Jaya, Shah Alam. Among the essential food items include rice, oil, sugar, dry goods and flour.

The contributions were presented by Air Selangor’s Director/Head of Operations, Ir. Abas Abdullah, along with Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia (YFBM) Chief Executive Officer, Johan Halid and Taylor’s Me.Reka Makerspace Director, Mike Choong.

To further enliven the occasion, social media influencer Mohd Nasrul Faiz Abu Azal or better known as Faiz Dickie also made a special appearance and assisted in distributing the Box of Hope to the residents.

As of September 2022, a total of 2,455 Box of Hope has been distributed to B40 communities and selected charities around Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. The Box of Hope initiative is a collaboration with YFBM, focusing towards alleviating the burden of B40 communities.

Box of Hope contributions can also be made at five (5) Box of Hope Village Grocer locations, namely Tamarind Square Cyberjaya, MyTown Cheras, 1 Mont Kiara, I-City Mall Shah Alam, and Melawati Mall Ampang.

Additionally, Air Selangor has recently launched a digital version of the Box of Hope initiative that enables the public to channel their donations online via www.airselangor.com/boxofhope/.

As part of its Sesama Mara programme, Air Selangor also distributed digital devices to the Pangsapuri Rimba Jaya’s community centre under the Empowering Online Learning initiative. These devices are aimed at helping children of B40 families with their online learning sessions.

This ongoing initiative was first launched last August at PPR Kota Damansara, as a result of a collaboration with Taylor’s Me.Reka Makerspace, a learning hub founded by Taylor’s University.

Air Selangor hopes that these contributions will bring joy to the residents while at the same time continues to strengthen the relationship with its stakeholders from various walks of life such as the local communities, resident associations, local authorities and NGOs.
