AIR SELANGOR PENS A NEW ENTRY IN THE MALAYSIA BOOK OF RECORDS IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE 64TH NATIONAL DAY CELEBRATION

29 AUGUST 2021

Kuala Lumpur – Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) created history when it received Malaysia Book of Records recognition for its “Largest Participation In A Virtual Song Performance” record in conjunction with the 64th National Day Celebration.

The record was verified by the Malaysia Book of Records on 20 August 2021 at the group singing session of the original number, ‘Tanggal 31 Ogos” by the late Sudirman Haji Arshad involving 3,126 employees of the Headquarters and all regional offices employees in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.

Air Selangor has successfully commemorated the celebration via an online platform despite the limitations during the National Recovery Plan (PPN) Phase 1. The celebration was held to elevate the spirit of patriotism amongst Air Selangor employees while at the same time support the spirit of #kitajagakita throughout this challenging pandemic period.

Air Selangor has also launched a video in conjunction with this year’s National Day celebration featuring 64 Malaysians reciting a poem by National Laureate, Dato’ Usman Awang, also known as Tongkat Warrant entitled ‘Tanah Air'” (Menjelang Kemerdekaan), as well as special appearances by Selangor Menteri Besar, YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari; literary figure, Prof. Dr Lim Swee Tin; renowned director and actor, Sabri Yunus; national athletes, Shalin Zulkifli, Datuk Minarwan Nawawi and Khalid Jamlus. You can watch it on Air Selangor’s social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Air Selangor’s website.

With the theme ‘Malaysia Prihatin’, Air Selangor also distributed 150 boxes of essential food supplies through the Box of Hope initiative to communities in need at Semenyih, Kajang and Sungai Ramal on 24 August 2021.
