Kuala Lumpur – In the spirit of helping those in need in the month of Ramadan, Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) extended assistance to three welfare homes on 4 April 2023 through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme Sesama Mara.
Through this programme, Air Selangor donated essential food items including rice, oil, sugar, dry goods, and flour, as well as household items to Pusat Jagaan Warga Emas Kaseh Bonda, Rawang, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Yatim dan Miskin Baitu Saidati Khadijah, Gombak, and Rumah Penyayang Darul Ilmi Gombak – Asnaf & Anak Yatim, Kuala Lumpur. School supplies were also donated to the orphanages.
At the same time, in order to raise awareness about health care, Air Selangor took proactive steps to collaborate with KPJ Damansara Specialist Hospital to conduct free basic health screenings and provide health advice specifically for the children of Rumah Penyayang Darul Ilmi Gombak.
The health screenings which were conducted by the staff of KPJ Damansara Specialist Hospital include measuring body mass index (BMI), blood pressure and blood sugar content, which are crucial in helping them detect early symptoms and risks of any disease.
In addition, Air Selangor also took the initiative to inspect the condition of the internal pipes in these welfare homes to ensure the comfort of all residents.
Air Selangor hopes that this noble effort can ease the burden faced by these welfare homes in making preparations to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
The Sesama Mara programme consists of grassroots initiatives that aim to help the B40 community in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya, as well as strengthen Air Selangor’s relationship with stakeholders from various walks of life such as the local community, resident associations, local authorities and NGOs.
