What is e-Invoice?
- e-Invoice, introduced and implemented by the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM), is a digital representation of transactions between a supplier and a buyer.
- e-Invoice replaces the use of paper or electronic documents such as pdf, jpeg, doc, and others.
- e-Invoice contains the same essential information as traditional documents, for example, supplier’s and buyer’s details, item description, quantity, price excluding tax, tax, and total amount, which records transaction data for daily business operations.
When will the e-Invoice be implemented?
- According to IRBM, e-Invoice will be implemented in phases to ensure smooth transition. The roll-out of e-Invoice has been planned with careful consideration, taking into account the turnover or revenue threshold, to provide businesses with sufficient time to adapt and implement the e-Invoice.
- The mandatory implementation timeline for e-Invoice is as follows:

Is Air Selangor involved in the implementation of e-Invoice?
- Air Selangor is involved in Phase 1 of the e-Invoice implementation scheduled to begin on 1 August 2024, as it falls under the category of taxpayers with an annual turnover or revenue of more than RM100 million according to IRBM’s Implementation Timeline.
How can I obtain an e-Invoice for my water bill? What should my customers do upon receiving the email?
- Account holders who wish to obtain an e-Invoice can update their information through the e-Invoice e-Form link included in the email received from einvoice@mx3.airselangor.com for the issuance of e-Invoice.
How can I update my information to ensure the e-Invoice details are accurate if I have not received any official email from Air Selangor?
- Customers can request to update their information via email at help.einvoice@airselangor.com.
What will happen if I do not provide the required information?
- If the information is incomplete, no e-Invoice will be issued to the account holder when the e-Invoice implementation takes effect.
- However, account holders will still be able to receive water bills as usual via email, WhatsApp, and postal mail.
