Kuala Lumpur – Following an official statement from Lembaga Urus Air Selangor (LUAS) on the odour pollution incident detected at the Rantau Panjang Water Treatment Plant (Rantau Panjang WTP) intake, Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) would like to inform on the temporary shutdown of four (4) water treatment plants namely Rantau Panjang WTP, Sungai Selangor Phase 1 Water Treatment Plant (SSP1 WTP), Sungai Selangor Phase 2 Water Treatment Plant (SSP2 WTP) and Sungai Selangor Phase 3 Water Treatment Plant (SSP3 WTP).
Following the shutdown of Rantau Panjang WTP, SSP1 WTP, SSP2 WTP and SSP3 WTP, eight (8) Air Selangor regions, namely Petaling (370 areas), Gombak (279 areas), Hulu Selangor (30 areas), Klang & Shah Alam (189 areas), Kuala Langat (3 areas), Kuala Lumpur (186 areas) and Kuala Selangor (280 areas) are expected to experience unscheduled water supply disruptions starting from 12:00 am today. The list of affected areas will be notified and updated from time to time.
Alternative assistance through water tankers will be mobilised to the affected areas, with priority given to critical premises such as hospitals, clinics, dialysis centres and funerals during the unscheduled water supply disruption.
Air Selangor will provide updates progressively from time to time through all mediums, especially the mass media.
