Kuala Lumpur – Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) would like to inform of the latest update on the temporary shutdown of Sungai Semenyih Water Treatment Plant (Sg. Semenyih WTP) and Bukit Tampoi Water Treatment Plant (Bukit Tampoi WTP) following the odour pollution incident detected at Jenderam Hilir Raw Water Pump Station.
For consumers’ information, Sg Semenyih WTP has commenced its operations at 3:30 pm today and water treatment process is underway to ensure clean and treated water supply can be distributed to consumers. Meanwhile, for areas affected by the shutdown of Bukit Tampoi WTP, Air Selangor will be activating alternative water supply from Sg Semenyih WTP for consumers’ consumption.
Water supply in the affected areas will be distributed in stages to consumers’ premises starting from 9:00 pm, 3 May 2022 and is expected to fully recover at 9:00 am, 4 May 2022.
The water supply recovery period differs from one area to another according to the location of consumers’ premises as well as water pressure of the distribution system.
Alternative assistance through water tankers will continue to be mobilised to consumers, with priority given to critical premises. Air Selangor is making all efforts to minimise the impact of disruption on the affected consumers. Consumers in the affected areas are advised to store enough water while waiting for the water supply to fully recover.
