7:00 PM
Air Selangor would like to inform on the status update of temporary shutdown of Rantau Panjang, Sungai Selangor Phase 1 (SSP1), Sungai Selangor Phase 2 (SSP2), and Sungai Selangor Phase 3 (SSP3) Water Treatment Plants (WTPs) following an odour pollution incident at Sungai Kundang and Sungai Sembah.
As of 6:00 pm, the Rantau Panjang Water Treatment Plant (Rantau Panjang WTP) has commenced operation. However, the water sampling tests for SSP1, SSP2, and SSP3 WTPs still recorded a reading of 1 TON.
Following the temporary shutdown of these WTPs, seven Air Selangor regions which are Petaling, Klang, Shah Alam, Gombak, Kuala Lumpur, Hulu Selangor and Kuala Selangor regions are experiencing unscheduled water disruption. The list of affected areas is listed in Appendix A.
Air Selangor is doing our best to mitigate the impact to the consumers. Alternative assistance through water tankers has been mobilised to the affected areas by giving priority to critical premises such as hospitals, clinics, dialysis centres and funeral service centres during this period of unscheduled water supply disruption.
Air Selangor will provide updates progressively from time to time through all mediums, especially the mass media. Consumers can refer to all our official communication channels such as the Air Selangor application, Facebook, Instagram and X or call the Air Selangor Contact Centre at 15300 or visit www.airselangor.com/.
