Kuala Lumpur – Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) would like to inform of the latest update on the temporary shutdown of Sungai Semenyih Water Treatment Plant (Sg. Semenyih WTP) following the pollution incident detected at the Jenderam Hilir Raw Water Pump Station intake.
As of 9:00 pm, the water flushing works and water treatment process at the Sg Semenyih WTP are underway and have reached 59%. Clean water supply is expected to be distributed in stages to consumers’ premises starting from 12:30 am, 1 May 2022.
Following that, water supply in the affected areas is expected to fully recover at 3:00 pm, 1 May 2022. The duration of the water supply disruption and recovery in the affected areas will vary depending on the distance of consumers’ premises and the water pressure at the distribution system.
Alternative assistance through water tankers will continue to be mobilised to consumers, with priority given to critical premises. Air Selangor is making all efforts to minimise the impact of disruption on the affected consumers.
