Kuala Lumpur – Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) has announced the winner of the Tap, Tap & Win X50 Contest that ended with much excitement and joy at the prize-giving ceremony held at Proton Regal Motors 4S, Petaling Jaya.
Out of the thousands that entered the contest, the lucky winner, Chuk Wai Yee won the grand prize of a Proton X50 worth more than RM100,000.
The Tap, Tap & Win X50 Contest is an initiative by Air Selangor to promote the subscription of its e-billing, known as e-Bil. Customers who subscribe to e-Bil will receive their water bill through digital platforms, namely through email or WhatsApp. Furthermore, by subscribing to e-Bil, customers can easily check their water account status and facilitate the bill payment process.
The campaign which ran from 10 May to 30 November 2022, contributed to Air Selangor’s e-Bil sign-up rate by customers to 65% in 2022 from 51% in 2021, attracting participants from Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya. As of December 2022, 1.6 million customers are currently on e-Bil, an increase from 1.3 million customers in December 2021.
To enter the contest, participants must subscribe to e-Bil, ensure that there is no overdue water bill payment during the campaign period, and share the referral code with friends and family. The one with the most number of referral codes used is entitled to win the Proton X50.
Air Selangor’s e-Bil was first introduced in January 2018 to reduce Air Selangor’s environmental footprint and the costs associated with issuing physical bills. The shift from paper-based billing to e-Bil enables customers to pay their bills anywhere at any time.
Air Selangor’s Acting Chief Executive Officer, Ir. Abas Abdullah said, “We are always looking for ways to engage our customers better and one of the ways is to get them to subscribe to e-Bil. To that end, the contest is an excellent platform for us to do so and to tackle salient issues like reducing our environmental footprint.”
“As most organisations have rapidly embraced digitalisation in response to a changing business environment that has been fuelled by the COVID-19 pandemic, this is just one of the various initiatives we have rolled out to expand the digitalisation of our operation to improve our productivity and quality of customer service continuously,” he added.
“A hearty congratulations to the winner, and we hope that the prize presented will bring much joy to Mrs. Chuk Wai Yee,” said Ir. Abas Abdullah.
The lucky winner, Chuk Wai Yee shared, “I feel wonderful and so thankful to Air Selangor for organising this contest and awarding me this huge prize. I also encourage everyone to switch to e-Bil because it makes my life easier; it allows me to access my water bill information and make online payments anytime, anywhere.”
Customers can switch to e-Bil now by registering at update.airselangor.com or downloading the Air Selangor application.
