Air Selangor Organises Mental Health Workshop with Charity Homes in Conjunction with Deepavali Celebration

Kuala Lumpur – In sharing the joy of Deepavali celebration, Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Sesama Mara, organised an interactive mental health workshop with children at Rumah Kebajikan Karunai Illam, Kuala Lumpur, and extended contributions to two other charity homes: Pertubuhan Kebajikan Thangam Illam (Ampang) and Persatuan Kebajikan Sri Saradha Devi Illam (Rawang).

The mental health workshop, conducted by SAPOT Warriors, a certified social support platform, alongside Air Selangor’s Hydro Heroes volunteer team helped participants understand and manage their emotions through creative tie-dye clothing activities, adding vibrant colours to their Deepavali celebration.

This marks the second time Air Selangor has held a mental health workshop, specifically aimed at children as part of its continuous efforts to engage with the community and support their mental well-being.

At the same time, Air Selangor also donated essential items such as groceries, food, and household supplies to 83 children from the three participating charity homes.

Elina Baseri, Head of Corporate Communication of Air Selangor said, “Each year, Air Selangor takes the opportunity to bring joy and support to those in need, especially during major local community festive celebrations like Deepavali. We also hope to touch the lives of the various segments of society with care and social responsibility through this initiative.”

Under the Sesama Mara initiative, Air Selangor has distributed a total of 6,335 Box of Hope, consisting of essentials food items to B40 families in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya since this initiative was introduced on 30 June 2020.

Sesama Mara is a grassroot initiative aimed at assisting the surrounding community while strengthening Air Selangor’s relationships with various segments of society, such as the local community, residents’ associations, local authorities, and non-governmental organisations.
