Kuala Lumpur – Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor), under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme Sesama Mara, today celebrated Hari Raya Aidilifitri with 60 orphans and single mothers together with Media Prima Berhad at Sri Pentas, Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya.
Through this celebration, Air Selangor donated household items and basic food as well as providing internal plumbing service assistance for children and single mothers from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim UMMI Selangor (Kajang), Pusat Jagaan Kanak-kanak Yatim/Miskin Rukaiyah (Kajang) and Persatuan Rumah Kebajikan Anak-anak Yatim dan Ibu Tunggal Hajah Kamariah (Petaling Jaya).
The Acting Chief Executive Officer of Air Selangor, Ir. Abas Abdullah said besides sharing the blessings with the less fortunate, the donation could also ease their financial burden in celebrating the festive. Air Selangor also gave Raya money packets to children and single mothers from these welfare homes to cheer their Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.
“Receiving positive feedback from the organisation of Sesama Mara’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri last year, we continue to organise this event for 2023 with the same hope that is in line with our brand promise ‘Joy in Every Drop’ of bringing joy to the community members, especially to the children and single mothers during this festive season,” said Ir. Abas.
The guests were also entertained with song performances by Naim Daniel and Sissy Imann. In addition, BoBoiBoy’s special appearance grabbed the children’s attention and enlivened the celebration.
Additionally, under the Sesama Mara programme, Air Selangor also extended assistance to the less fortunate during the last Ramadan by distributing 150 Box of Hope boxes containing essential food items such as rice, oil, sugar, dry goods and flour to the B40 families who are among the residents of the People’s Housing Project (PPR). Air Selangor also provided special festive assistance and free internal plumbing repair services for three (3) selected charity homes and health check-ups for 70 orphans and the elderly in collaboration with KPJ Damansara Specialist Hospital.
In conjunction with this, through the Sesama Mara programme, Air Selangor calls to the public to help those in need by giving Box of Hope’s sincere donations in the form of basic food items. The Box of Hope initiative has been expanded to a digital platform to make it easier for the public to donate through online payment transactions at www.airselangor.com/boxofhope/.
In addition, the existing Box of Hope donation method in the form of physical purchases can still be done at five (5) Box of Hope Village Grocer locations, namely Tamarind Square Cyberjaya, MyTown Cheras, 1 Mont Kiara, I-City Mall Shah Alam and Melawati Mall.
The Sesama Mara programme is a grassroots initiative that aims to help the surrounding community while strengthening Air Selangor’s relationship with various layers of society, such as the local community, residents’ associations, local authorities and non-governmental organisations.
